Got shit FPS?

if your like me and the 1st thing you noticed with DODS was the 10fps you were getting, here is something you may find useful. i have not spent much time on it, but ive managed to double my average fps allredy.

file install location:
your CFG folder in DODS



aswel as using this CFG you should also shove some stuff in your launch option / command line:

-dxlevel 80 -heapsize 52000

this stuff has only been tested on my computer, so dont cry if it all goes wrong OR come to me expecting me to fix it. i will try and help, but my time is limited.

One thing though, with the -dxblabla80 in the launch line the game always starts in 800x600, and resizing always leads to pink textures in water and custom textures. Is there any way to make it launch in 1200x800.

1200x800 isn't a 4:3 ratio - do you have a widescreen monitor?

Anyway you can force the game to start at a given res by opening the launch options for the game and typing

-w 1280 -h 960 (the settings I use)
if you do want 1200x800 then use
-w 1200 -h 800

Not its not widescreen, I just couldnt remember the exact numbers.

Is this still something to do with the update cock up?
When are they gunna fix it?

i found that the file did help...

however dosent fix everything..

i managed to record my choke goin up to 60 ?? wtf

that could just be a shit server..

i will update the file again at some point when i have the time. maybe i can find a few more things to turn off
