i,m pricing a new pc up it might noy sound powerful compared to some of u guys (BUTCH ) but i have to work on a limited budget.also i dont know anyone who can do it 4 me so i am gettin a guy to build it and this is his rough pricing approx £500 will get me

motherboard: asus a8v deluxe
amd 64 bit 3200+939 processor
1g:g ddr 400 memory
120 gig hard drive
dvd rom drive
and my geforce 6600 graph card
what u guys think please dont come on saying how much i can get it cheaper i just want to know if this seems a good price because i dont know anyone else who can build 1

A mate just built one almost identical and is very happy with it.

if i had an extra couple of hundred is there anything u guys would change especially 4 performance on internet gaming

id put the rest down on a 6800GT mate!

please don't: you're better off with a ATI x800xl. same performance on average, about 60 english pounds cheaper and actually performs better under HL2. Yoiu can find revies at Tom's hardware and Anandtech.

AFAIK ATI800XL doesn't support pixel shader 3.0

true, it supports ps2. the 6800 series isn't powerfull enough to provide proper support for ps3, dunno why nvidia bothered to support it. the 7800 series however is powerfull enough, but also @#$% expensive

Yeah im gonna upgrade within the next couple of weeks to amd 64 3400+ or greater and motherboard to support it, if i had the money id get a duel core one, but i dont think that will be possible. And then i'll be getting a top of the range gfx card aswell.

Change of plan, ive me eyes on exactly the same, X800XT PE 256MB DDR3, (not copying ya franko, lol) any luck i'll have it by the weekend, fingers crossed.


Then my kids can have my old comp as they keep moaning about they want one, even know i know it will get trashed, shit happens, i mite even sell it on.
