But I cannot imagine its a driver

that type of BSOD is only normaly caused by faulty drivers!!!!11!!11!!112!""$%$%08458y09tohernioewiol

vista needs drivers to talk to your hardware..

that includes during the install... and the 1st load... .... ... and before you even install anything...

there is a whole section in the vista install that detects your hardware and installs the "correct" drivers for it....

just post the god damn BSOD

rofl

vista ffs... just go back to XP and be done with this shit - would not surprise me if they shipped it with a faulty driver thats causing this BSOD

in your first post.....

you said that you actually had your machine running... you played css...

then shut down........

only after you shut down and re boot did you get this problem...

well atm im thinking that if u rebuild ur system... as you did before.. and re install... as you did before....

it should work.. as it did before....

if this time it dosent work.. then it looks very likely to be a hardware prob...

if it all works fine and you boot up for the first time as you did before...

then we know its a river problem...

either wway we manage to narrow it down to either software or hardware.

now.... if its hardware... it will be the case of building with minimal stuff...

or even if you can hijack stuff from another comp and test out ur stuff individually

if its driver and ur using vista.. then i dont know tbh

but like i said before i suggest you try with xp as its more stable and more reliable than vista.

yeah i stripped my computer down to just graphics card... goint ot try just 1 gb ram pair then another pair..im a bit screwed graphics card wise as i only got the one pci-e the rest are all AGP. but if the 1 gb ram doesnt work then I will just see if XP holds together.!

in my book, that is not "narrowing it down" thats all a computer is made up of no?

I am guessing its hardware as Vista installed ok before the problem!.

If it it is the software how do you install the right drivers before you install windows?? And why were the drivers on the Vista disk ok before but now fail??

So im guessing hardware. anyway try all the options tomorrow (hardware wise) and see what happens...

I think it could be the graphics card!

Well tonight will show it as I will have time to get it done!
