ive get a computer that is dying on me here. i think the hard disk is on its last legs. It is gracefully allowing me to backup photos etc but where do i go from here?

Is there a way to easily create a mirror of this dying drive onto a new fresh non-dying drive? Or would it be better to install windows onto a fresh hard drive and use this one as a slave to freshen up this old somewhat slow pc?

To write this i had to use fixmbr to get windows to actually load. The irritating thing is that this isnt my computer. I am also writing this with no visible mouse cursor, it makes pointing and clicking trather awkward.

please help me, Si x

Best bet is to save what files you can and then start again from scratch.

Windows needs a reinstall once in a while anyway....
