I was playing on emp_escort_beta3 yesterday in BE team. Map design gives you only 2 ways of capturing 1st flag: either rifleman rush in 1st 3 minutes or APC rush to the flag. There was only 1 person that tried rushing as rifleman with me (Ghost Mayama). Most of Brenodi bought heavy tanks that are totally useless at 1st flag because they are expensive (about 700 res or more) and slow. Only spawning lots of infantry at the flag leads to capture.

So we had 5 heavy tanks and 1-2 APCs trying to rush. Heavies were fucking around: attacking a bit (moving 10m forward) and going back to get repairs. There were 3-5 of them all the time and at least 1 blocked the way to the flag. When you're rushing with an APC you need 3phase engine (fastest) and you have to drive at top speed. Then NF has big problems with triggering 9th mine. Heavies were either totally blocking the way to the flag or slowing me down so at the flag I was too slow to get through mined area.

Me an Mayama started 9th mining, blocking and destroying our own heavy tanks to get some necessary space and Flame111 banned me lol. (probably because his tank died too) I didn't do anything wrong because I was helping my team. Destroying admin's tank was a side effect but I don't really care. If you have doubts if I'm right or not ask BSID Simon or Ghost Mayama. I also made last changes to emp_escort: I released emp_escort_beta3.

OT (I'm too lazy to create topics elsewhere):
1. You have exploitable maps in mapcycle: emp_sinking is a one big exploit.
2. People aren't being banned after using exploits. I was playing on emp_streetsoffire yesterday and NF commander built barracks in a place where he shouldn't do it. Some KM member was on the server and well he didn't to shit.
3. To communicate with your clan/server admins I have to either join some steamfriends groups or register on this ******* forum. Even to say something like "remove this map from mapcycle".

Hmm, I didn't die because you blocked me. Actually I died when I was pushing forward to clear the way to the flag and nobody followed.
I agree that the round was completely messed up, but things like that happen from time to time.
So you think it's OK to block your team's vehicles and place turrets in front to 9mine them when a team fails?
Is that what Empires is about?

And yes I've been speccing when NF managed to build barracks on top of a building right in front of your base on streets of fire. I don't know how they managed to get there, but what do you expect? You want me to ban the whole NF-team (half of the server) for that? I'm not even sure whether that can be considered as an exploit, because they weren't outside of the map boundaries. They just found a way to climb up there and your team wasn't able to stop them.

You're right, that's really annoying. We should give you admin rights so that you can take over our clan's server instead!!

Barracks on the roof: In earlier versions on other servers it was a common practice to ban commander that exploited by building barracks in such place. Just look at it from other team's point of view: it's impossible to defend against people coming from the building and making buildings there shouldn't be allowed. It's a map's bug but temporary solution is banning/kicking exploiters.

About escort. I needed to get all our heavies killed or move them out of my way. They were all standing there blocking and not killing NF at all. It is quite common near later flags that you have a group of about 5 tanks blocked by 1 driver that is scared of dying with his tank. He either blocks his team "successfully" for several minutes or gets killed by enemy. Sometimes it's possible to push him closer to the enemy (to move the team forward not just to get him killed). I don't see anything wrong in destroying my own team's tank that is blocking everyone. This problem will stay there because people think that their 700 res heavy is worth so much that team just can't lose it. Another example is a person blocking his whole team in spawn by making walls around it so he won't get killed. You would kick the guy from 2nd example after 10 seconds but you can't see the analogy between 1st and 2nd example. Only details are different.

The problem with APCs requiring so much to stay alive (high speed and lots of clear ground) will be fixed when 9th mining is removed.

I did understand what you said and generally I agree upon your tactics how capture the first flag on escort. It wasn’t only you who was blocked by all the heavies being afraid of moving forward, but me too. But I still don’t think that your attemps to block and destroy your own team’s tanks were helpful. Maybe a bit of patience and communication to get the team work together would have been better.
We had a lot of noobs on our team, hence we had a heavy with railguns and one with plasmagun which were completely useless and just blocking each other. I understand that experienced players like you sometimes can get upset about that, but damaging your own team isn’t the right way to help them learning how to play. Besides that I won’t tolerate single players deciding that a team is crap and therefore block and destroy the own team.
Or would you like it if a player on your team decides that you are a shit commander and blocks you with turrets or walls and flips you?

As for the ban, I think it should be lifted, because you usually don’t cause trouble on our server and your purpose was to win the round and not to piss off the ppl on the server.
Just note that I will carry on banning players who damage their own team in that way in future.

As for the exploit on streets of fire it’s allright, I’ll watch out for that.

I had a game few days before it on escort_beta3 with a guy in BE medium tank constantly going closer to NF, getting repaired, shouting a bit and generally blocking the way to the flag. He killed about 10-20 NF and I explained him in details what has to be done. He was doing it for at least 30 minutes.

If you tell me about something else that works (gets him to front or gets him killed by NF) I'll use it.
I might also take a jeep and push such tank.

I dont care who he is or what he does. If he is mouthy to an admin, I will ban him!

It could have already happened, but I didnt have my binds in place at the time.
