Lets face it. KM is going to turn into a public server that noobs are going to fear to tread on.

Whatever maps are on there random people are going to see either a lowly populated server, a custom map or a highly populated server with a mix of 2 clans and some random people all of whom own them if they connect.

2 Zat. 1 aim map never hurt anybody. Its vote only, its 1 MB big and its quite fun when the server isn't stuffed. Good to for a quick practice too. I need to see more people saying "No" before I can turn down Jack's recommendation. And I would like to draw your attention to the fact that KM server isn't exactly full nowadays. We are in luck if we are getting 7-9 a side. And that's for couple of hours during the weekend. So I don't really think the "camp fest" will happen.

Regarding jailbreak. Not a bad map, although I expect that there would be quite a big number of people who wouldn't like it. What I am worrying about the most is adding another cs map to the list... cs_office, cs_compound, cs_italy... 3 cs maps, all 3 are well received overall. I really don't think we need more than 3 cs maps...

I conducted a small vote with people online in my Steam Friends list who play on KM. I included people of different skill levels and asked all of them 2 questions:

1) Would you like an aim map on vote (not on cycle).
2) Would you prefer jailbreak or italy?

People who expressed their opinions in this topic weren't included. The results are as following:

1)

Yes! 5
Wouldn't mind. 2
No. 1

2)

Jailbreak! 2
Italy! 4
What's Jailbreak? 2

For the first question majority of people chose "yes" aslong as it wouldn't be on the default cycle.

With jailbreak the results were not as clear with some people up for jailbreak and some for italy. Some people had no idea what jailbreak is.

In conclusion we might stick jailbreak and Jack's aim map in for a test run... But it is now hard to maintain official:custom map ratio.

Here is the new version of the map cycle, which attempts to resolve all requests:

i would say consider removing compound not italy if you want to test drive jailbreak. Which, btw, is indeed a classic and a great cs map to play!

contra is not a very popular map either, pub or ladders, it's just such a sad looking map

as for a custom to official ratio, I wouldn't worry about it. If the maps are liked you will get players on.

if you are looking for an aim map I would recommend cb_training I think that's what it's called. It's a great aim map and perfect for multiple opponents.

and if you want to see if a map might be well received, search for servers playing it.

The problem with cb_training_map is that pro people like me can get the awp without climbing the tower

That and the fact that it has a awp on it

tbh i couldn't agree more with Comm on this topic. I wish to have those times back when CSS servers didn't have vote for maps at all! Back then it was up to admins to make a good map cycle and there have always been ppl moaning about maps, but it was simply down to if you don't like a map gtfo. Severs were still full even without map vote. On our server nowadays ppl seem to prefer to vote for stock maps, even if they are unbalanced as fuck, rather than trying to play (and learn) a new map!!!!! Tbh most of those "new maps" aren't even really new.
Forget about SBG classics Comm, ppl will have to learn "new maps", new angles, new spots to camp... they won't like it. Anyway, I don't care too much about CSS maps on public servers anymore. The only thing I'd like to have is a decent awp-map now and then. But then again most ppl won't like it anyway...

AWP maps are boring dont actually test your AWPing but your patience ...

I agree with the no vote comment though. I used to like knowing what map came next on SBG or Op2 tbh (knowing the rotation is great coz you can also tell when your fav map will be on). When I play on KM for a few maps I often end up playing the same map twice

I would say leave the vote. Nothing wrong with voting. Not giving a chance to vote for the next map is pretty old-school.

Zat, the thing is that compound is liked. Yesterday we had a classic KM day:

1) de_aztec , people start joining
2) shitaly, twice in a row due to shit vote options.
3) de_dust2. Twice because people love it.
4) cs_compound. Once, not too bad.
5) cs_militia. 30 minutes of misery.
6) de_cbble, because people love it.
7) de_contra = every one gets kicked.

Hopefully, by putting correct fixed versions of maps and removing shite no-one likes, we can spice this routine up a little bit.

I would stick with aim_ak-colt. No awps and its pretty neat. I wouldn't mind the awps, guys, I would probably love the awps because I try and train my awping as much as possible now. With all respect to good awpers on our servers (I do respect you loads), your skill is far beyond anything an average KM player can handle. On an awp map, or, on an aim map with awp available... The score board will look like this:

60 Frags, 5 Deaths Zat, Comm, LiKE, k4nt <stick hax0r name here>
35 Frags, 11 Deaths <next decent player>
18 Frags, 25 Deaths <everyone else>



So we will leave out awp maps for a moment. Compound stays, Jailbreak is now included.

Regarding, fire/contra/strike... Anyone has any recommendations? Zat, you say contra is dull... I can replace that with...

Ok, checked them out. Hazard is quite confusing, tbh. Lots of corridors, don't know about it. But autumn and season... They look fun. Autumn more so because it has nice texturing, which is quite different from other maps. Season is a bit more standard with train-style breeze-block texturing but its got a nice layout.

So I recon we can alter our custom map list to:

Feedback, guys!

The idea is to also introduce weekly changes to the map vote list, for e.g. We will be starting with de_autumn and de_season and look what people think, we will be then switching least popular maps with other decent maps we got on our list (contra, russka, etc). Tuscan will be switched with default mill at some point for you to look at. In addition to that your feedback and recommendations will be taken into account.

If all goes well, we can really get this map cycle going.

[KM] eD: i dont think you should have any of them on a pub tbh. Just standards.

Jack: all fairly popular maps. will help KM learn some cup maps too. awp_india is also quite well used, maybe on vote for a few weeks at some point or even better on the match server, would be useful on there.

[KM] Oak/FireBlade: with these maps we will get the more skilled people joinin. i just hope GarY dont though as he makes a server cry when he awps

tuscan's a great map but a bit big if server isn't full and it's really just a revamped mill

never played autumn, looks nice but season is a good map, great fps on it.
