Ok, I think i may have found and fixed the memory problem on this server - so this should be the end of crashing/degrading performance

I can now confirm the memory problem and crashing is now fixed - The server has been rock steady all night even with 20v20

Banning them and seeing them post a pathetic and lame "zOmg, I'm banned" post and then owning them on that too.

Ok, valve-style menus seam to have stopped working on the EMP server - so ive gone back to normal menus.

1 problem with this is, the keys are not bound on your game - so when you press a number to select an item on the menu, it wont work.

to fix this problem, insert this set of binds in your EMP console:

bind 1 "slot1";bind 2 "slot2";bind 3 "slot3";bind 4 "slot4";bind 5 "slot5";bind 6 "slot6";bind 7 "slot7";bind 8 "slot8";bind 9 "slot9";bind 0 "slot10";

This especially applies to admins, who will need to do this to kick/ban people.

I have filed a bug report on the emp forum so hopefully someone will care & fix it.

As normal, say "menu" in chat to get started, or bind the command km_menu

The KM Empires server has been one of my favorites recently, but it seems like the popularity comes and goes. My 2 cents on keeping the popularity up:

* Remove one of the Conquest maps. I don't think Conquest maps are overly popular in general and it's usually one of them that signals the final population die-off for the night.

* Two Conquest maps back-to-back in the rotation is double the pain. Right now Escort and Glycencity are back-to-back, and Escort is a particularly lengthy Conquest map to work through.


My personal suggestion:
Remove District402 (and/or Urbanchaos) and put Glycencity in that spot on the rotation to separate it from Escort.


In my opinion, Escort and Glycencity are two of the least complained about Conquest maps because they give some room to maneuver and it's not just a linear grenade festival. District402 and Urbanchaos just aren't that much fun on servers with 30+ players. (With 12 players, they're great. With 40 players, they're just a bunch of people standing around throwing grenades.)
