Greetings KM & friends

As some of you may have seen last night, 5 Star have a new sponsor. I'm not here to brag, I didn't sort any of this out and it's not as tho getting someone to pay for our servers necessarily makes us any better than any other clan out there.

However Comm raised a fair point last night (albeit in a fairly tactless and offensive way imho) that KM and many other pub servers operate a no-advertising policy.

As I say, we're not showing off, it's simply a deal between us and our sponsors: They pay for some of our stuff, and we wear their tags and plaster links all over our website.

We all enjoy playing on KM and respect your admins and your community. I'd like to think we conduct ourselves reasonably well when we're on but I don't want to step on anyone's toes, so if you'd rather we dropped the tags while on your servers, just say the word and I'll raise the issue with the CL.

we do indeed have a "no advertising" policy since our servers are funded by donations. [KM] itself is completely "non profit".

some clan members have reported the tags to myself (and probably other staff) and asked for their removal - but i have yet to enforce anything myself.

puts myself (and the staff) in an aqward position, since i dont want to spoil your fun (or the fun of others) by starting on tags.... but on the other hand, the people who donate to keep the servers alive wont want their money being used to advertise other people's services...

im sure the other staff members will comment in this thread and we will see where it goes...

You have no idea what me being tactless and offensive is.

Clearly you believe that there is something wrong with going about with adverts in your name or you would a) have had them on too as that is (apparantly) the point of your sponsorship deal and b) take this up with the admins of the server and community in private messages if you thought the issue was serious enough to rather than making facetious posts making snide comments at me.

Actually Comm I personally have no issues with wearing the tags. The reason I wasn't tagged up last night was that I'd only just got back from Scotland for my brother's wedding and hadn't quite got up to speed on the weekend's developments in clan land.

Secondly, since KM is a community and not a dictatorship, I thought it best to allow the community as a whole to voice their opinions. I believe that's what forums are for... or would you rather I sent individual PMs to the whole member list?

And as for snide comments, considering how quick you were in calling my clan leader sad and pathetic last night, I'd say I demonstrated remarkable restraint in my original post. Take note, you might learn something.

Oh and you can quote monty python at me all you like matey, but I'm afraid in my eyes, that pink shirt negates any grief you care to give.

It really makes me worried about the maturity level that a pink shirt is all it takes to destroy "respectability". Clearly people get 7 figure bonuses are not respectable either because chances are they have all worn one at some point.

I actually said that being sponsored to play a game is sad and pathetic. It was nothing personal.

There is one problem with your entire post in that Miry went on the Op2 server before you went to scotland with the tags on and he removed them as soon as I asked. You knew about the advert but you didn't put it on even when there was no official request to not have them on.

As I've not seen the tag yet...

Does the tag advertise the clan or a company?

Comm, it's not just the colour of your shirt, it's the whole look in general. I know the term 'internet hardman' gets overused but it applies.

*sigh* and not that it matters, when i went away on thursday the deal had not been finalised. I believe miry had the tags on to take some screenies and show our sponsor what it looked like, then he joined the Op-poo server. So when slay joined last night, that was when i realised we were sponsored. I would've added them to my own name but you had your little outburst before i got a chance so i opted to leave it and post on here instead.

Sooo, I think we all understand where you stand on this comm, can we let some other people (ie. KM members) have their say? ... unless there are any more technicalities you want to pull me up on? did I make any spelling mistakes?
