Downloading Mani every map change?

Ay-oop..
I dunno if this is a problem or not..or if I'm just being a bit dim..
I seem to remember seeing half a discussion about this in-game the other night.

Every time a map changes, It seems to take just a wee bit longer due to downloading something Mani-related. Is this normal? Has I broke something?
I've searched the forums this morning , but I can't find anything related to this. It doesn't seem to happen on other servers btw..
Can anyone shed any light on this puleez?

Ooh, sorry, the KM public.. Not had it happen with any other servers as far as i can remember.
TBH I've not noticed which files, but I'll check the next time I'm on...

I get it, cant remember which file, I seem to remeber it being a Decal, does many have these or am i making it up?

If I log onto my XP setup and go to public server, no download, boot to Vista and go to public, and I get Mani downloads.

?

cant do much without the file name...

my game loads without downloading anything... so that means you probably dont have the file its trying to send you?

cl_downloadfilter nosounds

iirc, you can replace the "nosounds" with "all" to block everything including maps etc, "none" (i think or"0" will let you d/l everything mate
