[KM]Crzy88 wrote: tbh losing all ur data aint fun!raid stripe 1 ftw! Yea that's right! But if you have a single HD all data will be lost as well when it fails. Making backups of important data is essential no matter what sort of HDs or RAID you run. Burning on CD/DVD ftsafety. I've run RAIDs on my computers since 2000 and never had any problems. Of course with 2 HDs you double your risk, but make backups make backups make backups make backups make backups make backups make backups make backups make backups make backups make backups make backups make backups

as far as i know (and i might b wrong)raid stripe 1 with 2 drives means,u have the same data on both drives,so if 1 fails u still have the second drive as backup.

Yea that's right. Not sure what you're on about.
1 HD (no RAID): disk failure => data loss RAID0: disk failure => data loss (higher risk) RAID1: disk failure => no data loss (2nd disk contains same data)
RAID1 and 2,3,4,5,1+0,0+1 etc. will prevent data loss when 1 disk fails (with some raid levels even more than 1 disk could fail). But it won't prevent anything, if data is deleted accidently, a virus or a hacker does so. Making backups is always a good thing to do, no matter what you run.

now what annoys me is that i bought most of this from an american company...
now heres a hint for those of you thinking of buying from the states --->
WIRE TRANSFER ONLY
they apparently have had a shit load of identity theft and therefore most sites dont accept international cards..
which i thought was fucking stupid.....
another annoying aspect of buying stuff in the states.. is that this shit is gona take another week and a half to get back into the UK -- which hopefully the fuckers in customs wont stich me up.
then i shall have a brand new computer to pwn you with
muwahahahahaha

psu will regulate voltages, that is their job ... but its probably best to buy one in the UK if anything so you get the right cable to plug into it or if its cheaper you could just buy the cable . .

good luck getting that lot through customs, everything is done on weight and size now for VAT for some reason, if you get pinged mate they will have your backside over a barrel two ways from sunday.
If parcel farce pick it up this side they will slap handling fees and wont release the goods until payed, oh how i pray for you.
