I'm sure you've all seen and HEARD that annoying advert for "Zap The Mosquito" - appears as a sidebar or whatever and invites you to zap the mosquito to win an iPod of whatever... Makes me reach for the volume control everytime.

Go and grab Greasemonkey that allows you to run scripts on web pages.
And then grab Adblocker that's a script to block all those annoying sidebar/headers adverts you get.
