Im still getting kicked for "client timed out" and "cannot connect to steam server".

Other than that, the game seems to be running fine.

May be worth cnaging ISP - you'll have to loose your connection for a few hours, but going to someone else who doesn't send you through amsterdam may help.

My ISP used to do that, I complained and showed them tracert examples and they rerouted me.

How much RAM do you have? How big is your swap file and when was the last time you did a defrag?

2 gig of ram, dont know what swap file is, and defrag other day.

I played a few maps last nite and everything ran fine, not 1 frezze up, no sound lag, and didnt get kicked once, fingers crossed for the future.

So thanks goes out to sneg for putting himself out for over an hour to help me sort my computer and isp out, cheers.

edit: i notice xfire is listed as a cause...

... and in support emails the 1st thing they say is shutdown xfire when using steam (well they did to tetas)...

they should all be vac banned for having a program hook and change the way the game runs.

I had a peek at the link husband posted and it says my MTU is too low and i need to raise it to 1400... How would i do this?

just looked at the test.

ignore MTU results...
1500 is probably to high anyway tbh.
