Need help buying a monitor

Hi all,

Would like some help with a monitor purchase, Ideally a 19” flat screen. Have been looking on Dabs and came across this one

http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=3THC&CategorySelectedId=11109&PageMode=1&NavigationKey=11109,40514&v=3

Model Samsung 19"SM930BF 4ms Display TFT.
If the link doesn’t work (Bit of a noob when it comes to posting).

I like the fact that it has a 4ms refresh. Anyone got any better ideas/comments?

looks good, not cheap tho...

CRT's are cheaper, but they are bigger (ofcorse )
you would get much more inch for your £ (& higher res & refresh rates)

the MS on a tft/lcd is how fast the pixels can change colour ...

in css tearms, its the latency/ping of the picture..
the lower it is, the faster you see stuff and the smoother it is

Am i the only one who finds a bigger monitor a disadvantage. Much prefer playing on my 17" LG to my bros 19", it's all too spread out.

Also something people don't consider is how bright the picture is. Mine has a "night movie" mode which lifts all the darker tones without making the bright overpowering. Fantastic as all those players lurking in dark corners are much easier to see!

Hubbies is an 19" acer seems to run fine for css as well as his mapping and graphics work, I dont know the spec but i bought it at Tesco for the princely sum of £185.

I got a 19" hyundai imagequest, its a crt but it also has a nearly flat screen. It does a very good job of displaying everything nicely, bought it from Alienware for about £155, but you can probably find it cheaper somewhere else.
