Went to see it tonight at an advanced screening.. thought i would let you guys know..
Fuck its good!.. you have to see it a decent cinema tho, cos you need top notch sound to go with the great CGI and close to screen carnage.. all on handy-cam, so you do feel a bit seasick after 10mins in, but that soon goes and you get into the action of it. cos its on camcorder style it does get put into the same area as Blair Witch (esp 1 snotty nose bit), but i feel that it makes it more real, like you are in with the action.. i was just expecting my chair to move as if i was on a ride tho.
No real normal storyline, and doesn't have the usual fake music going on so you know something scary is about to happen, so when something does happen its out of the blue and makes you jump.
wont ruin the story, but will let you know that it doesn't go into the reasoning of it all, more of the survival.. which is cool, as too many films question the if, hows and whys.

If there's one thing I can't stand in modern cinema, its the "shaky camera" thing that appears to be the newest fad...

I guess you've never watched the original star trek
Yeah, but it's really taken off recently. Battlestar Galactica (Man, that shit took it to a whole new level), Children of Men (although I must admit that I did enjoy Children of Men)...

Just watched it...
I'd agree with SD, and give it a good 8.5 - great movie.
Similar handheld camera style of Blair Witch, but much better acting, so you believe it's just someone with a handheld just caught in the middle of what's going on.
(Can't wait to get hold of a better copy, so I can see what's going on in the dark bits - eg. most of it)
