three days ago i reformated my hard drive, reinstalled windows, drivers ect...but had huge problems with steam and counterstrike. after two days of messing with steam i have it working. Then i reinstalled CSS but it seems to be stuck at 24% updating. It did not update to 24% just statted at that and wont go futher. But then if i try to run CS every thing on steam stalls along with CS. Can any one help? im not a computer person thanks a million bank

no numbers there butch, just where the 100% next to ur counterstrike mine is stuck on 24%?

no uploadrate makes me think that your computer cannot connect to the steam update server.

Either your local or router firewall is blocking it. Check both!

go into your firewall settings, look for allowed programs, find the one for HL2 and delete it, restart steam and your firewall should re-learn that HL2 is a friendly program

the fact its stuck probably means that steam isnt downloading the css files... or the hl2 files... or something else.

when you install css, steam also has to download all the hl2 shared content etc.. .. ..

you could also try downloading and installing hl2
