Hey Shadow

Is there a difference between "logging out" of the clan page and just closing the browser window?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think if I close the browser the website stilll thinks I'm logged in????

If this is so is there anyway to automatically log out when browser closed? or a timelimit for "log on" rights?

Just Wondering FOXX

Foxx,

Ibelieve that when Shadow logs into the website any one who has not been active for awhile is logged out automatically.

Lo Maximusalex
thanks for that but what exactly is active? Does it mean posting, or does active include reading the forums?

just wondering

I'm wondering too m8

Reason I'm wondering is because I've seen people listed as being on the site when I fairly certain they're not.

well I'm gonna try to remember to log out every time I leave the webpage. Hopefully it will give a clearer picture on website usage.

Shadow would have to give you the exact meaning of 'active'. I believe that if you haven't posted for 30 mins this counts as 'inactive' so when Shadow logs in those people will be signed out.

However I may be talking out my arse and got it completely wrong.

I did have something funny the other day. I made a post at around 17:30 while at work and did not log out. When I got home I opened the site and saw myself logged in and it would not let me sign in on my home computer. I sent an MSN to Shadow who then signed himself in and low and behold me and 15 others disappeared, I was able then to sign in.

I leave it to Shadow.

quick answer.. when you login the site sends a cookie to your machine that lasts 7200secs (2hours). The site will look at the cookie and see if its in range, if it is you are logged in..
But when i login it looks at everyone and if it doesnt get a response it will log you out..

as i have been away for a week and havent been logging in it seems that everyone looks like they are logged in, seeing as confusion is made i am going to change the settings..
